This winter warmer is a winner!! Pimped out to the max with alllll of the goodies 🙂

Step aside plain old, boring old oats….there’s a new kid in town!! Packed with tonnes more nutrition, flavour, extra protein and sustained energy for the best day everrr. Aaaaahhh the combination of the creaminess, crunchiness and warming goodness is simple awesome.


Pimped Out Porridge

(Paleo / Protein Powered/ / Real Food / Heart Warming )

*enough for 1 hungry person or 2 light eaters

*always choose organic where possible

The Ingredients

1/2 cup quinoa flakes

2 tablespoons almond meal

1 tablespoon gelatin or protein powder (I used Great Lakes Hydrolysate)

1 teaspoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon linseeds / flaxseeds (ground or whole)

1 tablespoon shredded coconut

1/2 teaspoon each of cinnamon and nutmeg

1 cup coconut milk


For the topping…

A handful of crumbled walnuts, pumpkin seeds, passionfruit, kiwi fruit and extra spices 🙂


The Method

1. Simmer all ingredients in a small pot over low / medium heat  (approx 5 minutes)

2. Add your chosen toppings

3. Curl up with some slippers, warm clothes and a cuddly golden retriever puppy dog (he he)
